Blue – The Colour of Calmness, Serenity and Inspiration

Serenity, coolness, calm, truth and peace embody the essence of the colour blue. Blue helps to stimulate the intuition, aids with communication and enhances creativity. Blue gently calms the body, brings peace of mind, relaxation and is calmly sedating. It is a contracting colour and is therefore great in easing overexcited states. Blue is a ‘major healing colour’. It is also often used in classrooms, to calm down aggressive and hyperactive children.

Physically, blue is able to decrease blood pressure, lower heart rate, decrease respiration and enable people living in hot and humid climates to feel cooler. Blue is great for throat problems, itching, headaches, back problems, inflammatory disorders, rheumatism, measles, excess bleeding, spasms and stings. It is believed to speed up the healing of burns, help fight infections and improve metabolism.

Blue is also one of the best colours for insomnia and shock.

Avoid Blue

Do not use too much blue if you are suffering from cold conditions, gout, paralysis, muscle contractions, low blood pressure, fatigue or depression.

Natural Sources of Blue

Clear blue sky, waterfalls, lakes, flowers, blueberries, ocean, water in all forms, blue Ulysses butterflies and blue birds.

Green -The Colour of Love, Harmony and Renewal

Green is known as the ‘balancer’ as it is believed to help neutralize disharmony of malignant cancerous cells, making it one of the most healing colours for cancer. It relieves tension and is calming, soothing and relaxing to the body and mind. It is able to balance the heart both physically and emotionally. Soothing greens stimulate feelings of empathy, growth, balance, harmony and love. A great overall body tonic -green stimulates without over-stimulation.

Green gently stimulates the pituitary, aids depression, anxiety, nervous exhaustion and contains disinfectant qualities. Using green is very beneficial in the treatment of shock, illness, fatigue, cancer and negative emotions.

Avoid Green

Do not use green if you are suffering from anaemia or chronic exhaustion.

Trees, leaves, rolling green fields, grass, mountains, honeydew melon, green vegetables, green plants, seaweed, chlorophyll, green apples, green birds and butterflies.
